SYNOPSIS:

Based on rhe story of Pippin, son of Charlemagne.

Once upon a time, the young prince Pippin longed to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He sought it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, he found it in the simple pleasures
of home and family.

This hip, tongue-in-cheek,anachronistic fairy tale captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere (the show has become a staple on high school and college campuses). The energetic pop-influenced score by three-time Oscar®-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz ("Godspell," "Children of Eden"  and the animated films "Pocahontas," "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" and "The Prince Of Egypt") bursts with one showstopping number after another, from soaring ballads to infectious dance numbers.

Featuring a strong ensemble cast and a show-stealing song-and-dance narrator, "Pippin" is equally effective as an intimate, black-box production (as envisioned by the authors) or as original director/choreographer Bob Fosse's splashy, dance-driven spectacle, which included some of the most brilliant staging in Broadway history.

This Show is Rated PG

The Odd Couple(Female Version)
Written by Neil Simon

Directed by John Birchler

CAST

Production Dates:         May 2-4 and 09-11, 2008

A Remake of Neil Simon's long-running Broadway comedy, The Odd Couple centers around two divorced women who live together, but can't stand each other's habits. Simon himself updated the script in the mid '80s to an all female version starring Rita Moreno and Sally Struthers in the Madison/Unger roles.  Neil Simon's famous update of his contemporary classic starts with a group of women friends playing their regular game of Trivial Pursuit. This week, the coterie is meeting at the apartment of Olive Madison, a divorcee who freely admits to being a slob: "I leave a mess when I read a book." Late to arrive is Florence Unger, a stickler for detail who would try the patience of a saint, and who has unfortunately just become separated from her husband. As life would have it, the slob and the fuss-budget decide to room together -- with hilarious results!  Within days, Florence 's obsessive habits start taking their toll on Olive and their friends. The only remedy Olive can think of (a pair of brothers from Barcelona ) disastrously backfires, and the two women are forced to agree on one thing -- even the best of friends sometimes make the worst of roommates.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CHARACTERS:

Florence Unger: Best friend of Olive Madison. Recently separated from her husband. Quote: "You'd just let it hang there, wouldn't you? Until it turns hard and brown and yich -- I'm cleaning it up!"

Olive Madison: Best friend of Florence Unger. Divorced not so long ago. Quote: "What's this? A display of temper? I haven't seen you really angry since the day I dropped my eyelashes in your pancake batter."

...Friends

Mickey: Part of the coterie. A tough cop, and proud of it. Quote: "Fourteen years doesn't mean you're a happy couple. It just means you're a long couple."

Renee: Part of the coterie. Loves telling stories and gossip. Quote: "You're going to eat food from that refrigerator? I saw milk standing in there that wasn't even in the bottle."

Sylvie: Part of the coterie. Always ready with a wisecrack. Quote: "Do something, Olive! She's turned a nice friendly game into the Christian Science Reading Room."

Vera: Part of the coterie. The youngest (and most naive) of the group. Quote: "Maybe she got locked in the museum. I once talked to a security guard there for twenty minutes until I found out he was a statue."

...and the upstairs neighbors

Jesus Costazuela: Brother of Manolo, neighbor of Olive. From Barcelona, Spain. Quote: "No. No children. We are honorable men. If we had children, we would have stayed there with our wives and family and been miserable forever."

Manolo Costazuela: Brother of Jesus, neighbor of Olive. From Barcelona, Spain. Quote: "You've been a very naughty spouse, Olibia...Friendship is more important than capons..."
